At Sara Washburn Yoga + Just Breathe YTT, it is my mission to fulfill my purpose through my gift and experience of teaching yoga. I will help others explore their truth as they courageously live their individual adventure. I will challenge them to awaken a ferocious passion for their own journey and extend this to lives of all humans with the yoga practice.

Let me introduce myself.

I am Sara. I am a mountain mama, first a student plus a teacher of yoga, oh and a mermaid at heart! During the summer months you can find me paddling on the water and when winter hits I am sliding down the powder and hiking in between. I grew up & currently live in Washington state but have a love affair for Montana and Utah and every mountain in between. 

 

I’ve held space for students on the mat for over twelve years, built a successful “studio less” yoga studio sharing the awe of nature and adventure through yoga on the lawn, in a snow covered yurt, standup paddle boarding and SUP yoga classes. 

 

For me yoga is a sacred practice that doesn’t have to be taken so seriously. It’s mean to be enjoyed, playful, dedicated, but you’re guaranteed to smile while taking my class and you’ll certainly feel better by the end of it! I believe simplicity is key yet trying something new is always invited. I teach with a strong focus on anatomy, working the body as whole to build strength and stability while aligning the energies within. Purging out the old and creating space for what is. 

 

Yoga has given me a strength and confidence I never knew I had. It has opened up space within my heart that was once closed and guarded. My practice has helped me become a better mom, a better skier, a pretty rad SUP racer, a more calm runner and well balanced hiker!

 

My true dedication to the practice started in 2010, diving into my first YTT certification. By 2011 Just Breathe Yoga was established. And some thousand classes later, in 2016 I lead my first Yoga teacher training. The element of water came in with my passion for being in the water, on the water or even just near the water. In 2018 I took my first SUP certification and became a Master Trainer, WPA level 2 instructor through Paddle into Fitness. I will be a forever student in order to be a well rounded teacher and currently finishing my 500 hour certification with Yoga Medicine. I am stoked you are here to share this space and embark on a journey with me! 

Getting over my fear and taking a step into teacher training was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Throughout training it is clear that Sara put hours of hard work and dedication into teaching her students. If you’re looking to deepen your practice or teach, this is an in depth thought out training. You’ll learn the lineage and history of yoga, different styles and asanas, anatomy, how to instruct students safely with intention. Not only that but you’ll gain memories that you will cherish and life long friendships while becoming the best version of you that you can be.
